Gouqi is one of London’s most exciting openings of 2023. With a successful career developing Chinese cuisine at famed restaurants in Asia and London, chef Tong Chee Hwee has returned to the UK to launch Gouqi – a new high‐end restaurant in St James’s, London, which opened its doors in February.
The new Fine Chinese restaurant marks the chef’s return to the London restaurant scene following his departure from international restaurant group Hakkasan after an 18‐year tenure as Group Executive Head Chef. Under his leadership, Hakkasan Group became a global leader in contemporary Chinese cuisine, with Hakkasan, Yauatcha, and HKK all winning Michelin stars.
